Dates

Scarlet Hacks will take place from April 4–5, 2026.
All project work must begin after the official start of the hackathon and be submitted before the final deadline announced during the event.

Eligibility

  • Open to all students developers
  • Participants may compete individually or in teams of up to 4 members
  • All skill levels are welcome (beginner to advanced)
  • Participants must register for the event and check in (for in-person attendance)

Project and Submission Requirements

  • All projects must be original work created during the hackathon
  • Use of open-source libraries, APIs, and frameworks is allowed
  • Pre-existing code or templates must be disclosed and should not constitute the majority of the project
  • Each team may submit only one project
  • All submissions must be completed through Devpost before the deadline

Prizes

  • Prizes will be awarded for overall winners and track-specific categories
  • Prize eligibility requires a valid submission and demo
  • In case of ties, judges may determine winners based on additional discussion or criteria

Judging Criteria and Winner Selection

Projects will be evaluated based on:

  • Innovation – Creativity and originality of the idea
  • Impact – Relevance and potential real-world value
  • Technical Implementation – Complexity and quality of the build
  • Design & User Experience – Usability and presentation
  • Presentation – Clarity and effectiveness of demo/pitch

Judging will be conducted by a panel of industry professionals, sponsors, and organizers. Final decisions are at the discretion of the judges.
